Antibody Production in Cell Culture - 40 liter
Client hybridoma is cultured in RPMI-1640 supplemented with 5-10% fetal calf serum. Cell viability and antibody production are monitored as needed. When culture is scaled to the appropriate volume, the culture is allowed to plateau. When the cell viability drops to 50 - 60%, the culture is harvested and clarified through 0.45 µm filters. The clarified cell culture supernatent can be shipped back to you or it can be used as process material for further purification (see related items).

Yield | ||
Process yield is affected by a number of factors, including antibody species, isotype and secretion characteristics of the hybridoma being used for the antibody production. Somewhat typical values may range from 1 – 3 milligrams per milliliter of ascites and 20 – 50 micrograms per milliliter of tissue culture supernatant. | ||
